Toronto – Ethiopian Airlines continues to soar in global recognition, adding two prestigious awards to its growing list of achievements. This comes less than a month after the airline received the “2025 APEX Passenger Choice Awards” for service excellence.
Business Traveler Award 2024
This week, Ethiopian Airlines was honored with the “Business Traveller Award 2024” as the Best African Airline, marking its fifth consecutive win in this category. The award ceremony, organized by Business Traveller Magazine, celebrates excellence in the travel and hospitality industries and is decided through votes from the magazine’s global readership.
The airline shared the news on Friday, stating:
“We are thrilled to announce that Ethiopian Airlines has been named the ‘Best African Airline’ at the Business Traveller Awards 2024! This marks our fifth consecutive win. Thank you to our valued customers for your continued support!”
CEO Mesfin Tasew reflected on the award’s significance and expressed gratitude to the airline’s workforce:
““We are pleased to have received the Business Traveller Award 2024 for five consecutive years. This award is a testament to our commitment, dedication, and hard work of our team members, and the stakeholders who worked tirelessly with us to keep our operations running smoothly. It is very special as it comes at a perfect time when we receive Africa’s first Airbus A350-1000. I would like to sincerely express my gratitude to the hardworking Ethiopian workforce whose commitment to excellence has brought us thus far.”
Best Cargo Airline – Africa
In addition to this recognition, Ethiopian Airlines also received the “Best Cargo Airline – Africa” award at the Arabian Cargo Awards ceremony, held earlier this week in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The airline noted the significance of the award, saying:
“The Arabian Cargo Awards serve as a prestigious platform to recognize excellence in the cargo and logistics sector across the Gulf region.”
Ethiopian Airlines operates the largest air cargo network in Africa and ranks among the major global carriers, serving 140 destinations worldwide.
These awards solidify Ethiopian Airlines’ position as a leader in both passenger and cargo services across Africa. By consistently delivering excellence, the airline strengthens its competitive edge and reaffirms its status as a key player in the global aviation industry.
Vision for 2035
Looking ahead, the airline has ambitious plans to further enhance its cargo services. It aims to become one of the world’s top 20 cargo airlines by 2035, as measured by Freight Tonne Kilometers (FTK). The airline is committed to delivering safe, market-driven, and customer-focused air cargo, courier, and mail transport services.
