The number of civilians massacred on Saturday in Tole Kebele of Gimbi, Wollega, West Ethiopia is well over 200. It is said to be one of the deadliest.
The victims are mostly of ethnic Amhara origin who had been living in the area for generations. Associated Press cited survivors from the area to report that victims were being buried in mass graves.
One of the survivors who identified himself to The Associated Press as Abdul-Seid Tahir, who is said to be a resident of the Gimbi area where the incident took place, is quoted as saying “I have counted 230 bodies. I am afraid this is the deadliest attack against civilians we have seen in our lifetime. ”
The witness also said “We are burying them in mass graves, and we are still collecting bodies. Federal army units have now arrived, but we fear that the attacks could continue if they leave.”
Another witness who identified himself only by his first name, Shambel, told The AP “the local Amhara community is now desperately seeking to be relocated somewhere else “before another round of mass killings happen.”
The group that calls itself the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA), which the government calls Shane, denied that it carried out the attack against civilians in Tole Kebelle of Ghimbi, West Wollega area of Ethiopia.
There is no indication, at this writing, if the government has deployed Federal forces to the Gimbi area of Wollega, West Ethiopia.
Odaa Tarbii, OLA spokesperson, told AP journalist “The attack you are referring to was committed by the regime’s military and local militia as they retreated from their camp in Gimbi following our recent offensive.”
The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission and the Oromo regional State have confirmed that there was a massacre in Ghimbi but did not specify the number of casualties.
The Oromo regional state said that “Shane attacked civilians after it failed to resist an offensive from federal forces.”
There have been a series of massacres in the Oromo and Benishangul Gumuz region of Ethiopia since Abiy Ahmed took power in 2018, and the victims are, in most cases, ethnic Amhara communities who have been living in the regions for generations.
Thousands, including women and children, had been killed in the past four years. Hundreds of thousands of civilians were displaced due to ethnic-based attacks by radical ethnic nationalist groups.

You deliberately omitted the fact that most of the victims are MUSLIM ethnic Amharas.
The PM Abiy Ahmed recent speech carried a lot of weight and responsivity. Leaders are carful and must choose their words unless they are deliberately sending a message to their groups or actors. The angry squinch face inflammatory seditious speech of PM Abiy the Terrible during the Parliamentary session that he compared the Oromia Zone ethnic “song and flag” with French, German, Italian and etc.. language schools in Addis Ababa speaks volumes. That speech itself is more than a proof and evidence for the slaughter of 350 or more Amharas in Wellga.
In the first place it is totally wrong and unexpected of any leader either deliberately or ignorantly to come in front of the whole country and deliver totally untruth, unfounded and unfiltered dangerous speech that ultimately become the reason for the death of 350 Amahars.
Had PM Abiy had not gave that inflammatory and untruthful speech those innocent 350 Amhara women and children would have been alive now!!
Amharas women and children who live in Oromia Zone have no representation, protection like Oromos living un Amhara Zone. That is all the setup that gave green light for Oromia Zone administration to slaughter Amharas not only without any consequences but aided by coverups and encouragements of Abiy Criminal Mafia Ruling.

Second, those French, Italian, German etc schools, he arrogantly, angerly and ignorantly mentioned do not raise their national flag by forcing Ethiopians/Addis Abebans to sing their national anthem!!
He used Parliament session to convey his message to the Oromo Prosperity Party OLF Shene who are well fed and armed to go on the massacre spree against innocent and unarmed Amharas living in Wellga, the blood bath of Amhara. Then that followed by the usual Abiy evil tactic (self satisfaction) this time was going to vegetable planting and relaxing as if things are going well and as scheduled because he is happy and relaxed and knows what is happening.

Abiy the Terrible aka the Oromumma grim reaper is the messenger of death and violence. His cursed 4 years in power are testimony to his horrific legacy of death and destruction. The planting of trees and flowers might be a psychological therapy or normalcy creating tool of internalizing guilt, shame and responsibility and careful displacement of self analyses and admittance via displacement over something that can be objectified like a beautiful flower or tree over there.
For some reason, Abiy the Terrible looked really angry and bitter in parliament. His sullen face, bloodshot eyes and angry tone remind many of the the vile ousted Marxist Leninist wanna be Mengistu Hailemariiam.
This statement by the regional government does not add up for me. It goes ‘“Shane attacked civilians after it failed to resist an offensive from federal forces.” ‘After it failed to resist’. If I use the sports of boxing as an analogy, when a fighter cannot resist the blow from the opponent he either has been knocked out or has nothing left in him. Whoever said this he/she is either a liar or is dumb as a doorknob. This whole horrible and barbaric incidence is coming back to me totally bewildering me. After these innocent citizens were savagely slaughtered, what did the regional and federal government do? Well, the perpetrators had been beaten powerless and if I believe that then it won’t take too much effort to apprehend and catch every one of them. Did that happen? How many innocent lives should be lost for the government to react as it should considering these very innocent victims had almost unanimously cast their ballots in favor of the seating regime hoping they would be protected? How many Allah created lives should be lost? 250, 500, 1,000, 10,000, 100,000? What is it? I heard that most of these innocent victims consider were known to be Amharas and profess the religion of Islam. They were resettled there decades ago and have always been welcome until these demons came along.
