Toronto – Ethiopian Defense Chief of Staff, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, reportedly threatened Amhara regional officials over their alleged support for Fano forces.
According to a report by Ethiopian Media Service (EMS) on Monday, Defense Chief Berhanu Jula warned Arega Kebede, the President of the Amhara region, and other regional officials that “the Defense Force could withdraw from the region by Tahisas 30 [January 8]” if the ongoing military operation in the region is not concluded by then.
The Defense Chief has been in Bahir Dar for several days, accompanied by other Defense Force commanders, for the ongoing meeting.
“Now, it is part of the regional structure whose heart is with Fano that is fighting us,” Field Marshal Berhanu Jula reportedly stated. He emphasized that “the Defense Force cannot continue like this, paying sacrifices,” highlighting the significant losses his forces have sustained in the region.
He proposed that “it is better to leave the region for Fano forces and negotiate with them”
In mid-September, the Defense Force announced what it described as the “final” phase of operations against Fano forces, with plans to complete the mission within weeks. However, as with previous operations, the mission remains illusive to achieve.
Fano forces claim to have captured thousands of government troops in various parts of the Amhara region over the past few months. Recently, new video footage purportedly showing captured government forces has circulated on social media platforms.
While the Defense Force attributes its repeated operational failures to elements within the regional government structure, the rebel groups are evidently supported by a strong grassroots base both within and outside the region.
In what seems to be frustration over the ongoing challenges, the Ethiopian Defense Force has resorted to drone strikes, which, according to credible local sources, have predominantly targeted civilians. Human rights organizations have also reported extensively on these incidents.
Additionally, government forces have been accused of carrying out extrajudicial killings in various parts of the region on alleged grounds of support for Fano forces.
The Federal Government officially declared war against Fano forces in August 2023, intending to conclude military operations within weeks. However, the conflict remains unresolved.

Walter Cronkite has just reported from the war front that all these government officials including Field Marshal Berhanu Jula and Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh were captured by the combined forces of Speedy Gonzalez and Bugs Bunny after their helicopter was shot down near Bahir Dar International Airport. I have the video of them seen begging for mercy from Speedy.
Btw, do you know that Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen is an Indo-Guyanese? His mother is from Kerala and his father is a Hutu. I have the copy of his birth certificate right here in my hand. You guys don’t know diddly squat.

You all remember the fact that the ENDF had 453,256 well trained men under arms in 2022. The Ethiopian army and the air force were the most feared military in the world. But that has changed drastically since 2022. The militant groups in Oromia and Amhara have successfully routed the entire defense forces one battle at a time. The rebel forces in Amhara have taken 226,000 soldiers captives and the other armed group in Oromia has captured the rest 226,000 soldiers of the ENDF. That is why Abiy is rounding up all young men and forcing them into the military. As you all know the rebel group in Oromia is led by none other than the Rastaman Marroo. I am the one who has been supplying him with the best ganja home grown right there in Jamaica Bay. I just handed him the fattest joint about 6 inches in diameter and 16 inches long. He has been turned on, tuned in and dropped out since then. He told me that he has unquenchable appetite for ladies other than Oromos. That is why he hired a non-Oromo kidnapper who is specialized in kidnapping young non Oromo girls.
In regards to the POW’s both in the hands of the rebels in Amhara and Oromo regions, I have the list of the names of every one of them including their mug shots.
