Toronto – The tragedy that people in Gondar has been ceaseless since Abiy Ahmed’s government deployed forces with the pretext of “disarming Fano.” Before Abiy Ahmed, TPLF has unleashed all sorts of brutality.
In the latest string of tragic events, Abiy Ahmed’s government forces on Monday fired live bullets on peaceful protestors in Gondar town. According to credible social media sources with connection to Gondar at least 25 civilians are killed.
Government forces were reportedly shooting from a five meters distance. There are indications that women were among the victims.
An eye witness who shared a story with a social media source said “he saw 25 brothers and sisters soaked in blood and falling down on the ground.
Disturbing images of bodies on asphalt roads are circulating on social media purportedly showing civilian victims of Abiy Ahmed’s government forces.
Security forces were also prohibiting civilians not to pick bodies from the ground.
The source added that Protesters took to the street after a toddler was killed by “kidnappers” – something is believed to be the work of the government in order to undermine Fano forces as “robbers and kidnappers.”
Protesters were reportedly marching to Piazza to protest the killing of the toddler. It drew a large crowd and protesters were marching to the government administration office in the historic Gondar city.
It was not even a week since a mother and her daughter were shot to death in their own residence in Gondar for resisting to follow orders of alleged kidnappers.
Kidnapping involving brutal killing has become a pervasive problem in the Amhara region. Kidnapping operation is under the cover of Fano forces, according to credible reports, and it is the government that is behind it. It is politically motivated to tarnish the reputation of Fano forces as freedom fighters, according to analysts.
The Amhara region of Ethiopia has been a war zone for well over a year now. Credible human rights organizations have been reporting extensive egregious human rights violations including extrajudicial killings and rape as government forces experience military loss from their battles against Fano Forces.
At this writing, the regional government or the Federal government have not remarked about the massacre in Gondar.

are you talking about the decay and destruction of tigrai after 50 years of tplf domination. America has been on unending honeymoon with the Tplf for about the same length of time. perhaps that is why you see this as a recognition of tigrai by america as a regional power. If you do , you completely do not understand how american foreign policy works.. America has been labelled by some as the great satan. this is for a reason. america has never been a friend to the tigrai people or will ever be in the future. Their friendship , if any, is based on what they can get from you. If America was a friend of the tigrai people we would have seen america building schools, hospitals, roads, provide development assistance etc …that would benefit the people. All these fifty years , america has been arming, advising tplf in order to destabilise, and keep the region in a constant state of chaos , war and destruction.. they do npot want to see a united strong ethiopia. they want to keep ethiopia as a submissive client state for america who does what america wants. America knows it cannot cannot achieve that objective and so the only thing they have been doing is to keep the country unstable TPlf is a willing partner for this american conspiracy. that is all there is to it.
