I am worried about a potential genocide in Ethiopia. I am not referring to the current isolated killings, but to a the near future event that could take the lives of millions of people in a day or two. The Ethiopia genocide is not going to take 90 days like Rwanda. In one night 5 million people can be slaughtered. The machine is well oiled and ready for action.
Now let’s come to mind.
I know the human mind tends to avoid larger risks and focus on smaller issues, making it difficult for people to confront such a massive threat. If I write about avoiding sugar or salt obviously many of you would comment and discuss but death is avoided at all cost.
Concerned by development in Ethiopia I have organized several private discussions in Addis Ababa and other vulnerable towns to alert small political groups to this looming danger. While they all agree that genocide is not only possible but unavoidable, no one wants to address the issue after the discussions. Everyone prefers to avoid the topic, and even thinking about it seems to overwhelm their minds. This avoidance is natural; the human mind is designed or has evolved to steer clear of larger risks. How many of us think we might die tomorrow? None, yet the statistically a minimum 60 million people die every year naturally. There is a chance that I or you could be in this year statistics but none of us think of the statistics because brain want us to think about small risks like having burger or avoiding carb than death.
What would you say if you walk up to see in one night a million people killed in oromia including your mother, brothers, nephew and friends.
If we think about it, we can’t avoid the genocide but we can significantly reduce the number. It is practically impossible to prevent isolated communities from being slaughtered. The solution is in our hands. It is not far, if Abiy trip to fail on his bedroom stairs people will be slaughtered in an hour. The level of hatred, indoctrination and preparation is terrifying.
Don’t forget all genocides are carried out by state power. Rwanda, Jews in Europe,, Hereros, Armenia, Darfur etc.
Look some fact finding mission were sent surrounding the Addis Ababa hills. There are many established OLA and Shemelises Abdisas genocidal special force that will descend on the capital in minutes of the news.
So stopping this genocide is in your hand. Keep this mail and you might need it not to mourn for the death of loved one. Yes, you could have stopped it.
Genocide is not committed by monster looking people. It is committed by state power who emotionally stirred church and mosque goers peaceful citizens.
If you have read “Shaking Hand with the Devil” about the Rwanda genocide you will see how beautiful and peaceful on Easter holiday in Rwanda. The General describe all Rwandies, i.e Hutus and Toutsie dressed in their colorful clothes walked to the Catholic church to sing the resurrection of Jesus Christ but on the next weekend where the death of the president told over the news neighbours where chopping their neighbours in few minutes.
Image what if Abiy to die tomorrow, what would the extreme Oromo nationalists, armed groups, Oromia police, Oromia special force, federal police led by Demelash, security force lead by OPDO fanatics, Qerros, disfranchised and unemployed youth, OPDO cadres and Oromo Liberation Army would do to your sister or mother in the next door.
I know a lot of you have been writing articles about changing the culture of the peasants and Christians in Ethiopia. If there a culture to be changed it is the culture of the intellectual, which spend its time pointing figures on the others than itself.
So talk about the high risk issues, not trivial issues which is discussed on this forum.
If we talk about it, we can significantly reduce the number of the people to be killed, including our immediate family members.
Here are the genocide prevention tactics you can act by forwarding this mail to your loved one
1. Acknowledge the Risk: Accept that the risk exists and do everything possible to discourage and persuade potential perpetrators that genocide is not a solution and has severe consequences.
2. Public Awareness and Preparation: Alert the public to design their own survival safeguards. This includes psychological preparation and physical defense of their families, communities, churches, and institutions. The people have a numerical advantage over the perpetrators of genocide. It is the lack of psychological preparation that makes people willing and collaborative victims.
3. Alart Members of Law Enforcement: Alert members of law enforcement bodies to stand with the people at short notice to react and defend them, even if their commanders are involved in the genocide. Members of the army, police, and civil servants must prioritize defending their own families and communities over their commanders’ intimidating tactics.
4. International Community Alert: Inform the international community about the genocidal preparations by Abiy Ahmed, Shemeles Abdissa, OLF, and the PP party. Name the leadership and highlight that their families are in the US and they will not escape to the West with money lootted when things get tough. Ensure that these leaders will be hunted down wherever they hide, with severe consequences for their loved ones. The victims of genocide will no longer be rational.
5. Warn Potential Collaborators: Alert all potential collaborators that they will be hunted down and publicly hanged for helping the killing of innocent people. I was ordered is not a defence.
6. Alert &Mobilize Armed Groups: Alert armed groups to be on high alert and ready to deploy their forces at short notice to defend the people. RPF and Kagame looked down from the hills rather than immediately deploy their forces.
7. Alart people Organize Self-Defense Committees: Help organize self-defense neighborhood committees, self-defense groups at universities, and self-defense groups around churches and mosques.
8. Raise Awareness: We can stop the genocide by talking about it.
9. Alart the 0romo people: Alart the Oromo people, intellectuals, activists and armed groups there will not be an Oromo country o hegemony can be asserted by OPDO over the 72% of none Oromo Ethiopians. Oromo is second biggest ethnic group with 28% and not a majority which is spaced over vast land while giving all ethnic groups with its belly. Oromo only benefits from democracy and multiculturalism not from genocide, ethnic cleansing and hegemony. Genocide do not only unit all Ethiopians against Oromos but all the world against Oromos and the end of the Oromo name as Hutus no more call themselves due to the stigma associated with the Rwanda genocide.
10. Alart the Oromo Protestant preachers and Muslim imams: Alart and warn these religious leaders about their subtle support to Abiy-Shemeles project. Trust us Oromo hegemony through Abiy-Shemelis genocide and ethnic cleansing is an impossible ambition and it will turn back to harm the Oromos.
11. Alert Opportunistic individuals & parties : Alert PP supporters all over the world and political partners in genocide like Ezema party members (from Berhanu to DC members) and Aben (Belete Molla) groups they are collectively accountable for genocide that will take place. Any party member of Ezema will be accountable for the crime of genocide unless they disassociate themselves from the government. All Nazi members were guilty by membership of a genocidal government.
Finally just for a minute imagine what would happen if Abiy choked on his dinner tonight and died. Would you believe you could call your sister and mother tomorrow morning and see if she would answer your call? It is unlikely. She is probably dead.
