The article by Sisay Mulu (Amoraw) titled “Eskinder and Zemene: Catalysts for Change or Champions of Chaos in Amhara Fano?” is misleading and deceptive. The author takes a biased stance, favoring Eskindir Nega while misrepresenting the actual rift between the two groups. The author has been actively engaged in divisive propaganda, using social media platforms such as Twitter, TikTok, Telegram, and WhatsApp to spread blasphemous content against the other faction.

Misrepresentation and Bias

While the author commendably highlights the challenges faced by the Amhara community in “The Central Challenges Facing the Amhara Fano Movement,” the discussion under “Slogan or Substance? Debunking Perceived Ideological Rifts Within the Fano” is insincere. Instead of fostering unity, the author uses this platform to sugarcoat the ongoing blasphemous campaign against Amhara unity advocates in general and the other faction he portrays as contesting with Eskinder systematically.

The supposed ideological differences have long been portrayed as significant on social media by the author and his group for over a year to attack the “opposing” group. Meanwhile, there have never been documented evidences nor speeches from prominent Fano leaders to support these claims. Despite this, Professor Girma Birhanu’s article on July 12, 2024, also on the same platform, reflects this divisive agenda. He calls for the “immediate removal” of what he describes as the “dangerous Fano faction” and the formation of a unified leadership. This rhetoric is echoed by the author on his Twitter, where he has identified Fano leaders based on their province, suggesting the “removal of those from Bahir Dar” whom he deems “unsuitable for the struggle,” a very dangerous framing for unity.

In fact, it should have been the duty of the diaspora elites to facilitate a forum for open debate and reshaping of ideological views to unify and solidify the movement, but this opportunity has been misused to undermine the other group.

Deceptive Strategies and Misinformation

The supporters of Eskindir Nega have shown consistent deception and attempts to divide the unified Fano organizations in Gojjam, Wolo, Shewa, and Gondar. They have established multiple, but non-existent, Fano organizations to create confusion and discord. The vandalism against a fellow Amhara Fano leader’s residence in Shewa by factions aligning with Eskindir Nega exemplifies their disregard for the core values of the struggle. This, coupled with the 24/7 blasphemy campaign by paid social media agents, further undermines the Amhara struggle against repression.

The author’s characterization of Zemene Kassie as being involved in a power struggle is another example of this blasphemy campaign. Zemene Kassie is known for uniting his fellow Fanos and maintaining discipline and unity in both military and political aspects. By framing Zemene’s efforts as a mere power grab, the author not only misrepresents the situation but also sows further discord within the movement.

The Role of Social Media Echo Chambers

In conclusion, the author’s attempt to frame the situation as being hijacked by social media echo chambers is misleading. These echo chambers have been orchestrated by his group to discredit those not aligning with Eskindir Nega. I strongly condemn this divisive approach and urge the author and his associates to address the crisis as Amhara people and cease this unhelpful madness. It is imperative to stop the social media echo chambers and work towards unity within the Fano.

Call for Unity

To genuinely address the issues facing the Amhara Fano movement, it is crucial to move beyond divisive rhetoric and focus on building a united front. The internal conflicts and external pressures can only be overcome through solidarity, transparent leadership, and constructive dialogue. The future of the Amhara struggle depends on the ability of its leaders and supporters to rise above personal ambitions and work collectively towards their common goals.

The union of Zemene and Eskindir does not just spell success for their personal legacies; it ensures the advancement of the Amhara cause. A unified front under their joint leadership could be transformative, turning the tide in favor of justice and freedom for Amharas. Together, they can turn potential into victory, discord into harmony. This is the moment for bold leadership, for unwavering unity, and for the relentless pursuit of a future where the Amhara people not only survive but thrive. Let us forge ahead, not as fractured fragments, but as a formidable force united in purpose and resolve.

  1. One is obese lard tubby and the other one a punk from DC. What is that Nike cap on the head of the lard tubby? Who is the third one with sunglasses? Is he supposed to be their bodyguard? Their thugs are now reported to have committed a genocide on a minority group in their region. This punk from DC is reported to have a reputation of being so arrogant that he does not listen to others. In his mangled mind he thinks he knows everything better than everyone else. The lard tubby thinks he is more powerful than everyone. In his messed up mind the name given to him as Zemene qualifies him to be the Alexander the Great of all Amharas. Not in my yard! Not in my Shewa! These two will never set their feet in my Menz, Bulga, Tegulet, Merha Bete and Minjar. Always keep that in mind before thinking to come to my neighborhood. The other punk PM Abiy has learned a lesson not send his thugs to my area already. None of them survived to tell their story.

    • Your offensive description of Zemene in fact portrays your arrogance and hatred deep-rooted to your core. Instead of challenging the discord with principled opinion form the very essence of the existential threat facing the Amhara community and the way forward to overcome this challenge, you cowardly chose to blame both sides in a lamp some. This all can only show your disgraceful arrogance deep into your hard core.

      • Zemene Kase? LoL!! If you really love and care about him, tell that tubby to go to the gym and shed some of that lard he is carrying on himself in stead of rumbling around clueless. Zemene kase! የኔ ሽዋ: መልከ ጥፉ በስም ይደግፉ ይላል. Don’t forget what you Gra-Gondares did to my ancestors in the 1860’s. Your alcoholic madman, that የኮሶ ሻጭ ልጅ Tewodros gathered all males who peacefully surrendered to him and savagely chopped off their arms and legs. This was what one of the mothers of those victims wailed:
        ዐፄ ቴዎድሮስ እጅግ ተዋረዱ
የሽዋን ሰው ሁሉ እጅ ነስተውት ሄዱ

But how do you and Gra-Gondares see that drug addict madman? You erected a huge statue for him at your stinking capital of Gondar. That is nothing less shocking and shameful than erecting a statue for Mussolini, Hitler or Emperor Nero. Your predecessors used to urge every one in the country to rise up against my Shewa Amharas in the 1980’s and 90’s that resulted in the massacres of my Shewa Amharas who used to live in every region outside Northern Shewa. Your other punk has Eskinder for a name. Again, የኔ ሽዋ መልከ ጥፉ በስም ይደግፉ ይላል. Does that mean he as one of the smartest military tacticians just as Alexander The Great? LoL!!! He must be on crack cocaine when he picked and kept that name. Stay in your lost world limping around on your ጉዋያ የሰበረው legs.

  2. Hey Ethiopia! Are you still breathing and showing a sign of life after taking blows after blows by the almighty forces of Somalia, Piccolo Roma. Al-Qahirah and Ankara? Here is the finishing right on a kisser by Anadolu navy that just parked in Mogadishu!!! You are now for sure dead and gone along with every living, breathing Amhara and Oromo!
On old long syne poor boy Ethiopia,
    On old long syne,
That thou canst never rise again,
    On old long syne.

  3. Champions of Chaos as is!

Both are egocentric and looking to take advantage at some point in the future, but it seems very hard with the King at 4 Kilo who outsmarted all these babies filled with ego and miscalculations for so long….

My college classmate Ato Zemene was bright in education except his GPA is way lower than mine

  4. Kids have what we call a built-in hypocrisy antenna that comes up and blocks out what you’re saying when you’re being a hypocrite.
