Amahra Fano In Wollo is one of the major Fano groups operating in Wollo, Amhara region of Ethiopia

Borkena
Toronto – Amhara Fano in Wollo has announced yesterday that it has completed its congress. Local Ethiopian News sources reported that the group has elected executives and central council.
Over 40 appointments are made. The top six leadership positions announced are as follows.
- Mihret Wodajo ( aka Warkaw Mire Wodajo) – chairperson
- Dirsane Berhane – deputy chairperson
- Habtamu Demissie – Deputy Military commander
- Colonel Abay Bayew – Miliary planning and strategy department head
- Belete Shegaw – Military operations head
- Colonel Fentaw Mekuye – Deputy Military operations head
It was in late January that 26 divisions of Fano forces operating in Wollo announced merger as Amhara Fano in Wollo (Bete Amhara).
Borkena reported at the time that before the merger Fano Mihret Wojajo was commanding 17 divisions, Dirsane Birhane was commanding 8 divisions and Yosef Asmare was commanding one special commando force.
The merger was seen as an important step in the direction of uniting all the Fano forces in the Amhara region under a single structure. However, there are also other Fano forces with significant numbers under the leadership of Colonel Fantahun Mohabaw. He aligns with the Amhara Fano Popular Organizations (AFPO).
The Fano forces were under great pressure to form a single structure. Although there has been high optimism over the past few days, there appears to be a long way before Fano forces in the Amhara region of Ethiopia come under a single command structure.
