Toronto – Ethiopian Airlines on Friday announced that its cargo service has delivered 4,200 tons of flowers for the Valentine’s Day season.

The roses were exported from Addis Ababa, Nairobi, and Bogotá. The destination markets included Liege and Brussels in Belgium, as well as the Middle East, the airline announced.

“As the heart of the global flower export market, Ethiopian Cargo plays a pivotal role in delivering fresh, beautiful blooms to loved ones around the world, especially during the Valentine’s Day peak season. We are dedicated to ensuring that every petal reaches its destination, spreading love and bringing smiles worldwide,” Ethiopian Airlines said in a news update shared on its social media page.

According to sources, Ethiopian Airlines has as many as 20 planes dedicated solely to cargo service—primarily Boeing 777Fs and Boeing 737Fs—and serves over 60 cargo destinations across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
