Toronto – With the reported escalating tension involving Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) factions, the situation in the region is morphing into large scale conflict that will impact the region.
There have been rumors that Eritrea has already formed a military alliance with the Debretsion factions and the military leaders who supported the group.
On the other hand, the Interim administration in Tigray seems to be getting more grassroot support not just in Mekelle but in other parts of the Tigray region as well.
Mike Fenkel, a politician/activist from the Tigray region of Ethiopia currently residing in Addis Ababa sees the inevitability of the war. He seems to think that the war is the making of what he calls Shabia – a reference to the Eritrean government.
Not just that, he says the core of the TPLF under the Debrestion led faction is a pro-Eritrean government force.
